If you dismiss them they leave Caldaria and you can't find them again. Idk why you want to anyway but u can as someone said just leave them in a settlement to at least get relations boost Reply reply
Probably got wiped, companion captured, then he escaped and sat around the nearest city till you do something with him. You either have to go get him from that city or if you have a city you own nearby you can set him governor there, this will teleport him to the city you set him as governor, then you can get him and restart your caravan. #2. If you have cheats on, Ctrl+Alt+F4 is win button. I believe all you have to do is edit the config file. Not sure if the dev console is required. It makes is much easier by allowing you to turn cheat mode on and off while playing. Ballademager.
