Canon USA has just released a new firmware update for the Canon EOS 5D Mark III. Firmware Firmware Version 1.2.3 incorporates the following improvements and fixes. 1. Fixes a phenomenon in which the flash may not fire depending on the timing of when the shutter button is pressed. 2. Fixes a phenomenon in which the …Obviously I don’t use flash because of 300 guests. As far as good. I’m thinking of upgrading to a used 5D Mark III and getting a Canon 24-70L F2.8 to replace my crappy Sigma 17-50 F2.8. Bigger sensor = more light and better camera performance I would guess then. The other point being: The 5DMKIII and 24-70L is about the same price as a 5DMKIV.
The latest firmware updates for the EOS 5D Mark III is available from the Canon website. To find the updates: Follow -> this link to the Drivers & Software area for the EOS 5D Mark III. Select the type of operating system you use (Windows or Macintosh), and the version you use.
With Sony offering a 24.3-million-pixel, APS-C-sized sensor in its Alpha 77, and Nikon’s D800 boasting a 36.1-million-pixel, full-frame unit, it may seem a little strange that the resolution of the EOS 5D Mark III has only been increased 1.2 million pixels from its predecessor.

The camera wasn't designed to be used with a battery grip. I also don't recommend using a 3rd party grip. Using one on a camera body that was not designed to use one.
